Having enjoyed a distinguished career with the Metropolitan Police, Mark Stokes is known for his leadership in digital forensics and forensic technology modernization. He shapes the future of digital investigations across the United Kingdom. During his years with the Metropolitan Police, Mark Stokes led large-scale forensic transformation projects, advised senior government stakeholders, and contributed to the advancement of digital forensic standards, cyber investigations, and expert witness practices.

Before his senior leadership roles, he held various positions including head of forensic digital evidence unit within covert policing operations, senior scientist for eForensics at the Forensic Science Service, and operations director at Forensic Telecommunications Services. Mark Stokes also chaired the Forensic Regulators Digital Forensics ISO17025 Specialist Group, where he helped guide the drafting and publication of digital forensic codes of practice and regulatory appendices that contributed to national forensic quality standards. His work improved operational consistency, forensic governance, and evidential reliability within digital investigations.

Currently, Mr. Stokes serves as CTO and director at Engineering & Forensic Services, where he handles complex digital forensic casework, telecommunications analysis, expert witness testimony, and forensic research. He also advises universities on the development of digital forensic programs, laboratory design, training frameworks, and forensic processes.
